SMS Code Delayed or Not Arriving? A Fix Checklist
Work through it in order
- Check spam and blocked messages. On many phones the verification SMS is filtered into a spam or "unknown senders" folder. This is one of the most common causes of a "missing" code. In your CODASMS dashboard the code shows directly, with no carrier filter in the way.
- Confirm the number isn't VoIP. If you used a free internet number, it may have been rejected at carrier lookup — no SMS is ever sent. Switch to a carrier-grade number.
- Match the country. A number whose country is far from your connection can trigger a checkpoint that holds the code. Pick a country close to your session.
- Wait out a cooldown. If you requested several codes quickly, the platform may briefly rate-limit you. Wait a few minutes before the next request.
- Request a fresh number. If nothing lands in the window, cancel for an automatic refund and try another.
When it's a real delay
Genuine delays are short — seconds to a couple of minutes — and clear on their own. If you've waited several minutes with a carrier-grade, country-matched number and still nothing, treat it as a rejection and move to a fresh number rather than waiting indefinitely.
Why pay-per-code helps
Because you only pay on delivery, working down this checklist and retrying costs nothing until a code actually arrives.

Where do missing verification codes usually go?
Often into a spam or blocked-senders folder on the phone. In a dashboard-based service the code shows directly, avoiding that filter.
How long should I wait for a code?
Real delays clear within a couple of minutes. If nothing arrives after that with a good number, it's a rejection — request a fresh number.
Could a cooldown be blocking my code?
Yes. Requesting several codes quickly can briefly rate-limit you. Wait a few minutes before trying again.
Does the country of the number matter?
Yes. A number far from your connection can trigger a checkpoint that holds the code. Match the country to your session.
What if no code arrives at all?
Cancel for an automatic refund and try another number. You only pay on delivery.
